Our compass bangles are a dazzling composition of rare gemstones.
The first ever OOAK compass bangle was created in celebration of Jedi spinel’s pure color. If you haven’t heart of what Jedi Spinels are, they are an extremely rare hot pink gemstone that is coveted by gemstone connoisseurs. Their pure chroma is rarely seen in the gemstone world. If you are lucky enough to see one, covet her and never let go.
After getting so many compliments on the first creation, we launched a collection of OOAK gemstone compass bangles at the Couture show in May. Much to our surprise, we sold out in a day. Even gemstone dealers and insiders purchased them. We knew we created something really special when our fine jewelry peers wanted to purchase them for themselves (they’re a tough crowd).
Each compass bangle is a carefully selected collection of rare gemstones that come together in a composition. Yi’s creation process is incredibly organic. Some bangles are matched pairs while others showcase an ombre flow of colors. Each composition is about a feeling for color and quality rather than about a formula. There is something truly magical that happens in this creation process. Twelve years of fashion styling and eleven years of the jewelry business has given Yi a discerning eye to say the least.
The first drop of these unique bangles looked like Monet’s water lilies. Each gemstone with their unique shades of lagoon greens, lilacs and pinks that when seen together is reminiscent of a painting.
This second drop of compass bangles took three months to create. Each bangle tells a visual color story that is completely unique. Each has her own personality but ALL are meticulously created and composed.
